A concave bottom shoe is a tool for grinding downhole dropped objects, such as broken drill bits, roller cones, calipers, casing shoes, drill pipes, drill string connectors, deep well pump parts, and other dropped objects.
A concave bottom shoe is a tool for grinding down dropped objects in a well. Examples include grinding down drill bits, drill collars, calipers, casing shoes, drill pipes, drill string connectors, deep well pump parts, and other dropped objects.
The structure is shown in the figure, consisting of a shoe body and wear-resistant alloy. The shoe body consists of two cylindrical sections. The smaller cylinder has connection threads at the top; these threads can be external or internal according to customer requirements. The larger cylinder has overflow channels on the bottom and sides. The bottom overflow channel has mud circulation holes, and the space between the overflow channels is filled with YD alloy or other wear-resistant material.
The concave bottom shoe relies on the YD alloy and wear-resistant material welded to its bottom surface to grind down dropped objects under the action of drilling pressure. The ground debris is then carried to the surface by the circulating drilling fluid.
