      Fixed diameter reamers are used to enlarge the surface hole in onshore and offshore oilfields. That is, they are used to enlarge the wellbore pre-drilled by a roller cone bit, or they can be used in conjunction with a bit to simultaneously drill and enlarge the wellbore. There are three types of roller cones: “SM” type for soft to medium-hard formations; “MH” type for medium-hard to hard formations; and “XH” type for hard formations.
